The National Housing Authority (NHA) continued its “People’s Caravan: Serbisyong Dala ay Pag-asa” program, bringing social services to over 6,000 housing beneficiaries in Zamboanga and Bulacan.
NHA general manager Joeben Tai and personnel from the Region IX & BARMM Office and Community Support Services Department (CCSD) led the two-day caravan in Barangays Ayala and Recodo, Zamboanga City, on Thursday and Friday. Approximately 5,000 residents attended.
Simultaneously on Friday, NHA assistant general manager Alvin S. Feliciano, representing Tai, along with officials from the NHA Bulacan District Office, NHA Region III Office, and NHA CCSD, spearheaded the Bulacan leg of the caravan in San Jose del Monte City.
Around 1,000 people participated at the Barangay Poblacion Multi-Purpose Covered Court.
In a message, Tai expressed gratitude to the beneficiaries for their welcome and to local government units for their support. He also thanked partner government agencies for their ongoing assistance.
He also announced upcoming initiatives, including the implementation of “Condonation 7” in May, which will waive penalties and interest for eligible housing accounts for six months. He mentioned the upcoming sale of P33 per kilo of rice to beneficiaries through an agreement with the Department of Agriculture-Food Terminal Inc. and plans for more KADIWA stores to improve food security in resettlement areas.
Partner agencies provided various services, including applications for the National ID and civil registry documents by the Philippine Statistics Authority. The Philippine National Police, Land Transportation Office, PAG-IBIG Fund, PhilHealth and Social Security Services offered on-site registration and data checking.
