LUUK, Sulu — Top military and provincial government officials gathered in Luuk, Sulu last Saturday to celebrate the 6th founding anniversary of the 1102nd Infantry “Ganarul” Brigade, acknowledging past achievements and future goals for the province.

Brig. Gen. Alaric Avelino delos Santos, commander of the 1102nd Infantry Brigade, said nearly 1,000 people attended the anniversary celebration in Barangay Bual, Luuk.

The event, themed “Safeguarding Sulu: Six Years of Partnership and Progress in Sulu,” featured Philippine Army commander Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido as the guest of honor and speaker.

Delos Santos, described as the youngest brigadier general in the Philippine Army, pledged to further the development of the southern province.

“I want to express my deepest gratitude to all of our partners, local leaders and the people of Sulu who have made these six years possible,” Delos Santos said in his speech.
