Senatorial candidate and Makati Mayor Abby Binay received the endorsement of Taguig 2nd District Rep. Pammy Zamora during a barangay caucus held Thursday evening in East Rembo and Cembo.

In her speech, Mayor Binay assured residents of the EMBO barangays that she would continue to champion their cause in the Senate, drawing cheers and applause from the crowd.

“We decided to run for the Senate because we will bring this fight to the national level,” she declared.

Cembo and East Rembo are among the 10 barangays formerly under the jurisdiction of Makati but transferred to Taguig following a 2023 Supreme Court ruling. Since the transition, EMBO residents have voiced concerns over the lack of access to the health and education services previously provided by the Makati city government.

To address this, Binay has continued to support EMBO residents by granting access to free consultations and subsidized medical services at Ospital ng Makati. She also extended operating hours at select health centers in Makati to ensure continued access to primary healthcare.

Additionally, Binay opened the Lingkod Bayan Caravan — a weekly outreach program offering free medical services such as checkups, X-rays, ECGs, blood sugar testing, blood typing and free medicines — to both EMBO residents and other non-Makati citizens.

Binay expressed gratitude for the endorsement of Representative Zamora, whom she fondly referred to as her kinakapatid or godsister.

“Today, I stand before you with confidence because I know I have a partner, an ally, and a friend in Congress — Pammy Zamora,” she said.

Looking ahead, Binay vowed to scale Makati’s flagship programs to the national level. Her platform includes providing free maintenance medicines, unlimited and free dialysis and chemotherapy, and enhancing early childhood education. She also plans to propose legislation removing taxes on bonuses and overtime pay for both private sector and government employees.
