Singapore’s Changi Airport has once again been recognized as the world’s best, topping the 2025 Skytrax World Airport Awards and reclaiming the honor from Qatar’s Hamad International Airport, which led the rankings in 2024.

This marks the 13th time Changi has earned the top distinction, the most in the history of the awards since their inception in 2000. The announcement was made during a ceremony held in Madrid, Spain, on 9 April.

In addition to the top global ranking, Changi Airport swept several categories, including Best Airport in Asia, Best Airport serving between 60 to 70 million passengers, Best Airport Dining Experience, and the first-ever award for World’s Best Airport Washrooms.

Rounding out the top five airports for 2025 were Hamad International in second place, Tokyo Haneda in third, Incheon International in fourth, and Narita International in fifth.

Crowne Plaza Changi Airport, located within Terminal 3, also continued its impressive streak by being named both the World’s Best Airport Hotel and Best Airport Hotel in Asia for the 10th year in a row.

The Skytrax rankings were based on a global survey conducted between August 2024 and February 2025, which gathered responses from over 13 million travelers representing more than 100 nationalities. Passengers rated their airport experiences across various stages of their journey, including check-in, security, shopping, and departure.

Skytrax chief executive Edward Plaisted described the win as a “great achievement” and noted the significance of customer satisfaction factors like washroom quality in the overall airport experience.

Changi Airport Group CEO Yam Kum Weng expressed appreciation for the recognition, calling it an encouraging validation of the airport’s efforts to enhance service and comfort for travelers.

With this latest win, Changi further cements its reputation as a global aviation leader, now boasting a total of 697 international accolades.
