Senator Bong Go was named the adopted son of Capiz during the Capiztahan Festival on Sunday, April 6. The declaration, made by Governor Fredenil Castro, recognized Go for his ongoing service to the province.
“Senator Bong Go is a man of his word. With the power of the people of Capiz, I proclaim him as the adopted son of our province,” Castro said in Filipino.
Go, who joined a motorcade through Roxas City, expressed gratitude to the residents, stating, "I should be the one thanking you for the opportunity you've given me." He emphasized his commitment to continue serving Capiz.
As Chair of the Senate Committee on Health, Go reiterated his focus on improving healthcare access, especially in underserved areas. He highlighted the ongoing operations of Malasakit Centers and efforts to establish more Super Health Centers in Capiz and nationwide.
Go also discussed infrastructure projects he has supported in Capiz, including new multi-purpose buildings, flood mitigation systems, and road rehabilitations, all aimed at enhancing mobility and economic development.
He acknowledged local officials for their leadership and reiterated his commitment to improving public health, infrastructure, and disaster resilience in the province.
On the same day, Go also inaugurated Super Health Centers in President Roxas and Pilar, Capiz.
