A 36-year-old electrician was arrested for allegedly stealing luxury goods and a firearm valued at more than P10 million from a Quezon City home he was hired to renovate, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said Tuesday.
Reports said that the homeowner discovered the missing items during a routine check, leading to a police pursuit aided by technology.
The homeowner used an Apple AirTag attached to one of the stolen items to track its location. Coordinating with police, the signal led officers from the tactical motorcycle riding unit to a vehicle parked along Aberdeen Street.
Upon inspecting the vehicle, authorities found a designer bag containing two Rolex watches, gold jewelry valued at P10,267,000, and a licensed 9mm pistol with two magazines and 19 live rounds.
