Art Meets Tech: GLOBE FUZES ART WITH TECH Routers serve as canvas for Nat’l Artists

DT

In a convergence of creativity and connectivity, Globe AT HOME has reimagined its latest 5G WiFi device as more than just a household gadget — it’s now a canvas for Filipino artistry.

Unveiled at the “Art of Connection” launch at a:museum, the country’s largest digital museum, Globe introduced limited-edition router skins featuring works from some of the Philippines’ most revered National Artists.

The new 5G WiFi device, called the101, comes in two minimalist base colors — Stone (White) and Blueberry — but the real highlight lies in its exclusive artist-designed skins.

Among the featured works are Vicente Manansala’s “Birdman,” Botong Francisco’s “Pageant of Commerce,” Larry Alcala’s “Barangay,” and “Marahuyo,” a collaborative piece by Abdulmari and Toym Imao.

The skins transform the humble router into a collectible art piece, integrating culture and technology into everyday living spaces.

According to Abigail Cardino, head of Brand Management for Globe AT HOME, the goal was to make technology more meaningful and visually inspiring.

“At Globe, we believe that technology should complement and enhance our everyday lives — not just functionally, but also aesthetically,” she said. “By showcasing the works of National Artists, we are making connectivity not just seamless, but also inspiring.”

But the innovation doesn’t stop at design. Developed in collaboration with global tech company rainx, the101 offers more than just a pretty face.

It boasts next-generation 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) technology that delivers fiber-like speeds without the need for traditional installation.

With lower latency, the device supports smooth video calls, gaming, and streaming, while avoiding issues such as fiber cuts and unexpected downtimes.

User convenience is also at the forefront. Instead of typing long passwords, users can instantly connect by scanning a QR code on the device’s built-in LCD screen.

The interface also allows one-tap access to customer support and seamless SIM registration. Geo-locking ensures consistent, high-quality performance wherever the device is placed, and Globe backs the product with a seven-day, no-questions-asked money-back guarantee for added assurance.
