Discaya pledges free WiFi

Pasig City mayoral candidate Sarah Discaya has pledged to provide free Wi-Fi across the entire city if elected as the next local chief executive in the upcoming midterm elections.

“We will provide free WiFi throughout Pasig so that everyone is connected,” Discaya said in Filipino during the caucus meeting in Barangay Bagong Ilog on Tuesday evening.

She also promised to turn Pasig into a “smart city” led by a leader who is both intelligent and compassionate.

“For the smart city that we envision, we will no longer make it difficult for businesses to apply for permits,” she said.

“Everything will be done online to avoid red tape or under-the-table transactions. Everything will be digitized,” added the 48-year-old philanthropist, who runs a charity foundation providing medical missions and community service projects for the poor.

If elected, Discaya stated that her door will always be open to all Pasigueños and that she will listen to their grievances and concerns.

“As Team Kaya This, we want to be easily accessible. You can talk to us and express your concerns,” she said.

“We listen to the Pasigueños and their needs. You must tell us what you require,” she added.

Discaya also emphasized that she will only make promises that she can fulfill.

“So the platforms we are presenting are things that Team Kaya This can truly accomplish,” she said.

“These platforms didn’t come from us alone — they came from every Pasigueño here,” she added.
