Two brothers were arrested in Valenzuela City on Friday afternoon in connection with a 15-year-old arrest warrant for homicide.
Valenzuela City Police Chief Colonel Nixon Cayaban said the suspects, while related, were apprehended in separate locations.
They were identified only as “Fidel,” a 45-year-old welder, and “Junar,” a 56-year-old electrician, both residents of Barangay Malinta.
Operatives from at least three substations of the Valenzuela City Police, along with the Warrant and Subpoena Section, led the operation to arrest the two.
Col. Cayaban said the arrests were based on a warrant issued by Judge Oscar Zaldivar of Regional Trial Court Branch 75 for the crime of homicide.
The warrant, issued on 17 April 2009, carried a recommended bail of P40,000 each for the temporary release of the suspects.
Arrest footage showed that both men did not resist as their rights were read by the officers.
Fidel and Junar are currently in the custody of the Valenzuela City Police, awaiting the return of the warrant to the issuing court.
