MPower renews power supply deal with Araneta Group, extends to key properties

TDT

MPower, the retail electricity supplier of Manila Electric Company (Meralco), has renewed its power supply agreement with the Araneta Group, extending its partnership to key properties managed by the group, including those under Araneta Hotels.

The new agreement includes a contract for ibis Styles Manila, the latest hotel to open in Araneta City, where the contract signing took place. The Araneta Group's ACI, Inc. owns and manages Araneta City, a hub for retail, entertainment, and office spaces, while Araneta Hotels oversees the group's hospitality operations.

This renewal marks a significant milestone in the 11-year partnership between MPower and the Araneta Group, which began in 2013. In 2018, MPower was also tapped to supply electricity to Araneta Hotels, and today, most Araneta Group properties rely on MPower for electricity supply through the Competitive Retail Electricity Market (CREM).

“The Araneta Group is committed to excellent customer service and operational efficiency. Our long time partnership with MPower secures a reliable energy supply across our multiple properties, allowing us to deliver the highest level of service to our guests,” said Novotel & ibis Styles Manila Cluster General Manager Maria Manlulu-Garcia.

Redel M. Domingo, Meralco First Vice President and MPower Head, emphasized that the renewed partnership would drive innovation and continued business growth for both companies.

The agreement reinforces the companies’ shared commitment to operational excellence and sustainability.
