Senator Christopher Lawrence "Bong" Go emphasized his commitment to health and senior citizen welfare during a speech at the Annual General Assembly of the Abraham Senior Citizens Association in Parañaque City on 25 March.
Go highlighted his legislative work since 2019, citing 16 laws authored, including the Centenarian Act amendments and the Senior Citizens Act amendments, aimed at improving assistance to the elderly. "I am committed to advancing the welfare of senior citizens. Your concerns are my concerns," Go told the assembly.
He also touched on healthcare initiatives like the Malasakit Centers and the newly established Super Health Centers, which aim to provide more accessible medical services. Two Super Health Centers are slated to open in Parañaque, offering services such as laboratory tests, consultations, and maternal care.
Go also mentioned the creation of Geriatric Care centers through the Regional Specialty Centers Act, which he co-authored. He stressed that these programs are geared toward providing better healthcare for the nation's most vulnerable citizens.
In addition to his focus on healthcare and senior citizens, Go made a personal appeal for prayers for former President Rodrigo Duterte, who is facing health challenges and legal battles abroad.
“Please pray for Tatay Digong,” Go said, urging support for the former president.
Go concluded by reiterating his dedication to public service, emphasizing that his mission to help Filipinos is ongoing.
