Alex Eala's dream run in the Miami Open continues as she moves onto the quarterfinal after world No. 11 Paula Badosa of Spain withdrew from the match at the Hard Rock Stadium in Florida Tuesday morning.

According to reports, Badosa felt a sharp pain on her lower back after her 6-3, 7-6 win over Clara Tauson in the round of 32 last Sunday, speculating concerns she might not play against Eala.

Eala is coming off a shocking 6-4, 6-2 win over world No. 5 and Australian Open champion Madison Keys of the United States last Monday.

The 19-year-old Rafael Nadal Academy graduate will have to make the most of her newfound recovery time as she awaits the winner between world No. 22 Elina Svitolina of Ukraine and world No. 2 Iga Swiatek of Poland.
