Abra vice mayor bet’s convoy ambushed

The convoy of a vice mayoral candidate in the capital town of Bangued, Abra was ambushed, while two bodies were found in separate locations in Tayum municipality.

Candidate Mark Anthony Go’s convoy was ambushed in Barangay Sappaac on Friday, police confirmed yesterday.

Go, of Cabiloan, Bangued, is running for vice mayor of Bangued.

The suspects were identified as Roldan Gonzales, Robert Bio, Chester Bejarin, Jubert Camaddo and three unidentified individuals.

Investigation showed Go and his party were traveling in three vehicles to the Bangued Police Station to report a shooting incident when their convoy was fired upon.

No injuries were reported, but two vehicles sustained bullet holes. Police are looking into the motive for the ambush.

Meanwhile, two bodies were found in separate locations in Tayum, Abra, on Saturday morning. Police are still working to identify the individuals and determine the cause of death.
