The Embassy of France to the Philippines and Micronesia brought together over 40 universities for a seminar focused on academic exchange and collaboration in higher education and research between France and the Philippines.

The event highlighted ongoing projects led by the French Embassy throughout 2024, emphasizing opportunities for student and faculty exchange, joint research initiatives and institutional partnerships.

Representatives from various French organizations in the education sector introduced their programs, showcasing pathways for Filipino students to pursue studies in France.

A key discussion point was the participation of 16 Philippine institutions in the European Association for International Education Conference held in Toulouse, France.

The event allowed these universities to establish partnerships with European counterparts, further expanding the Philippines’ global academic footprint.

Looking ahead, the seminar also introduced Sweden’s higher education system as a focal point for the next international education conference, which will be held in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The discussion provided insights into Swedish academic structures and potential areas for future collaboration.

The initiative aligns with France’s commitment to strengthening its educational ties with the Philippines, promoting global academic mobility and fostering a knowledge-sharing culture between institutions.

Through these efforts, both countries continue to expand opportunities for students and researchers, reinforcing the role of education as a vital link in international relations.
