Twisted Minds head coach Kristoffer "BON CHAN" Ricaplaza hopes their win over AP Bren this past weekend will mark the start of more victories moving forward in MPL Season 15.
A newly formed squad from Saudi Arabia, Twisted Minds purchased a franchise slot at MPL PH, fielding the likes of Hadji, MP The King, Escalera, Outpalyed, Jeymz, and Sensui.
Their debut season, however, did not pan out as they hoped, as Twisted Minds absorbed five straight defeats before winning one against AP Bren.
According to BON CHAN, one of the reasons for their setbacks is their short time together.
"We were trying to play the current while other teams have been together for half a year, two or three months," BON CHAN told Daily Tribune.
"When we started the season, we had only been together for two weeks. This is a new org, and the bootcamp was not ready yet. I had to use the first two weeks of the regular season to improve."
For BON CHAN, the victory could mark the start of a better run for Twisted Minds, similar to how Blacklist International started last season but still got a spot in the Playoffs.
"It was an important victory because when you get the taste of it, it is the taste you seek. The past weeks have been bitter; now let's try something sweet," BON CHAN said.
"Hopefully, moving forward, we get more wins. Hopefully, we can replicate last season where we had a bad start but eventually caught up."
