Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesperson Police Brigadier General Jean Fajardo confirmed on Tuesday that they have been closely monitoring the situation concerning pro-Duterte rallies across various regions in the country.

Fajardo also encouraged prior coordination between rally organizers and authorities to ensure safety and order, according to a radio interview.

“As much as possible, there should be prior coordination so that we know where they plan to hold their rallies, and we can deploy the necessary protection,” she said.

Fajardo also clarified that the country remains on normal alert and that there is no immediate cause for concern.

“We continue to monitor these activities. We allow them as part of their right to express their sentiments. So far, we have not seen any serious threats to security,” she said.

The spokesperson also said that regional directors have the discretion to adjust their respective alert levels depending on the situation.

Despite the ongoing demonstrations, Fajardo reassured the public that the situation remains stable and they are prepared to respond to any developments accordingly.
