A leadership shakeup is underway at Ayala Corp. (AC) as the country’s oldest conglomerate prepares for the future by appointing a new generation of executives.
The company has promoted Mariana Beatriz E. Zobel de Ayala and Mark Robert H. Uy to Managing Directors, and Jaime Alfonso E. Zobel de Ayala and Jaime Z. Urquijo to Executive Directors.
AC President and CEO Cezar P. Consing said on Monday that the move reflects the group’s commitment to forward-thinking leadership as it nears its 200th year.
“Each of our senior promotees represents Ayala at its best – purposeful, forward-looking, professional, engaged. They will help make for an even better Ayala as we look ahead to completing two centuries of building businesses that enable people to thrive,” he said.
Mariana Zobel de Ayala will oversee the transformation of Ayala Land’s leasing business, including its retail, hospitality, and office segments. This includes modernizing flagship malls and adapting office spaces to evolving workplace trends.
Mark Uy will oversee Ayala’s business portfolio, ensuring it remains focused yet diversified. His role includes securing long-term growth for existing businesses while exploring new opportunities for the group.
Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala will strengthen governance across the Group while driving the expansion of Ayala’s New Energy Vehicle (NEV) platform, ACMobility.
Jaime Urquijo, on the other hand, will lead AC’s internal transformation by enhancing the holding company’s synergy across its businesses.
According to AC, the broader succession plan also includes key leadership appointments.
