Good news for Toyota owners in the Philippines — applicable to vehicles sold 1 January 2025 onwards, all new Toyota vehicles will come with an extended warranty of up to five years.
Previously, Toyota vehicles were covered for three years or 100,000 kilometers, whichever came first. Now, with the Toyota 5-Year Warranty, customers can enjoy up to two extra years or 40,000 more kilometers of coverage. But there’s a small catch: to qualify, owners need to follow the recommended maintenance schedule, getting at least one Periodic Maintenance Service (PMS) per year at an authorized Toyota dealership.
The extended warranty applies to all Toyota models sold from 1 January 2025, onward. This also includes vehicles leased under Toyota’s Kinto One program, making it easier for more customers to benefit from the additional coverage. However, it’s not an automatic extension — you have to earn it through regular maintenance.
To secure full coverage in the 4th year, owners must complete at least six PMS visits over the first three years, with at least one service per year at an official Toyota dealership. If they meet this requirement, they’ll continue to enjoy the same level of protection as the original 3-year/100,000 km warranty, covering everything it originally did.
For those who manage only three to five PMS visits, Toyota still offers an extended warranty in the 4th year, though with some limitations. This Limited Coverage Warranty excludes certain wear-and-tear components, such as those related to suspension, steering, and brakes. While it’s not as comprehensive, it still provides extra protection beyond the standard warranty period.
The 5th-year extension works similarly. If a customer qualifies for the full coverage in the 4th year, they can extend it by another year (or 20,000 km) by completing at least two PMS visits in the 4th year. However, if they only manage one PMS visit, they’ll only qualify for the Limited Coverage Warranty in the final year.
Essentially, Toyota is rewarding customers who stay on top of their vehicle’s maintenance. By keeping up with regular PMS appointments, owners get added peace of mind, ensuring their car stays protected for longer period of time. So, if you want that extra two years of warranty, just don’t skip those service visits.
