Women team members of Aboitiz InfraCapital Inc. (AIC) and its business units reflect the commitment of the infrastructure arm of the Aboitiz Group to building communities of empowered individuals. They are the product of AIC’s efforts to create opportunities for growth, leadership and mentorship.

AIC marks Women’s Month by celebrating the women who contribute to its success and actively uplift their peers. By sharing their stories and advice, these women create a network of support that extends beyond the workplace, inspiring others to overcome challenges and embrace opportunities.

“At Aboitiz InfraCapital, we believe in enabling women to uplift one another. Through shared experiences, we contribute to building stronger communities where everyone has a chance to thrive,” says AIC president and CEO Cosette V. Canilao.

RJ Villanueva, branding, ESG and corporate social responsibility officer at AIC Economic Estates, believes that speaking up creates a ripple effect of empowerment and encourages women to own their voices.

“Don’t be afraid to let yourself be heard. For years, I hesitated to share my ideas, only to hear someone else voice the same thoughts later. Believe in your contributions and let your presence be felt. When you shine, you inspire others to do the same,” Villanueva says.

Rizi Rossan Javier, asset maintenance and project management supervisor at LIMA Water Corporation, stressed embracing challenges with confidence.

“Believe in yourself and never be afraid to take on challenges. Speak up, ask questions, and continuously seek opportunities to learn and grow,” Rossan says. “Surround yourself with mentors and role models, and don’t hesitate to advocate for your career aspirations. Hard work, confidence and staying true to your values will set you apart. Most importantly, support other women and never let setbacks define your potential.

“The business world can be challenging, but it’s also a space where women can thrive. Embrace every challenge as an opportunity to grow, and always believe in yourself. Passion and hard work are contagious — they inspire others to push their boundaries,” adds Liza Dimaculangan, external affairs manager at LIMA Land.

One should lead with authenticity, according to Christine Villanueva, head of strategy and communications at Mactan-Cebu International Airport.

“As a young leader, I was told that being ‘too nice’ might hinder my effectiveness. But I realized that genuine leadership doesn’t require changing who you are. Stick to your values and lead with authenticity. When you’re genuine, you earn respect and inspire others to lead in their unique way,” Villanueva says.

Being patient helps support career growth.

As a mom, wife, and employee, I’ve learned the importance of giving myself room for error. It’s not always easy, but being patient with yourself and others helps create a supportive environment where growth becomes possible,” says Faith Pimentel, human resources officer at Unity Digital Infrastructure, a joint venture between AIC and Partners Group.

Jacqueline Tiu Bot, people and culture manager at Apo Agua Infrastructura, adds that self-care and continuous development also support growth.

“Jump on every chance to learn and level up, even if it means getting out of your comfort zone. Stick to your values, but stay flexible and evolve as you grow and learn. And don’t forget to take time for yourself — self-care is key to sustained growth and happiness,” Bot says.

“Empowering others starts with empowering yourself,” says Faye Condez-De Sagon, assistant vice president of external affairs at AIC. “If you never ask, you’ll never get it. Women have a natural ability to juggle multiple responsibilities, but it’s equally important to set boundaries, prioritize, and ensure you’re building the life you truly want.”

Canilao says AIC’s mission to enable businesses and uplift communities is brought to life by its incredible women teams.

“When we lift each other up, we build a future where everyone can thrive,” she says.
