The University of the Philippines College of Law will hold a forum titled “Legal Developments in the Situation of the Republic of the Philippines: A UP Law Faculty Colloquium on the International Criminal Court (ICC)” on 14 March, 2025, from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM, as announced on their social media pages.
The event will be led by Retired International Criminal Court Judge and now Professor Emeritus Raul C. Pangalangan, alongside UP College of Law Assistant Professor Theodore O. Te, Head of the International Legal Studies Program Assistant Professor Michael T. Tiu Jr., and Attorney Ruby Roselle L. Tugade of the UP College of Law’s Institute of International Legal Studies.
The forum will be moderated by Associate Professor Rommel J. Casis, Director of the Institute of International Legal Studies at the UP College of Law.
The discussion will focus on the current legal and political status of the Philippines, particularly in relation to former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, who is currently in The Hague, Netherlands, facing charges filed by the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity in connection with his administration’s “Oplan Tokhang” anti-drug campaign.
