The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) has been recognized for its outstanding role in promoting the importance of educators and supporting the 2024 National Teachers’ Month (NTM).

The Department of Education (DepEd) and the Metrobank Foundation presented the award to PHLPost for its dedication to honoring teachers and advancing initiatives that highlight the significance of the teaching profession.

During the awarding ceremony on 11 March in Makati City, DepEd Secretary Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara, Metrobank Foundation President Aniceto M. Sobrepeña, and Metrobank Foundation Executive Vice President Philip Francisco U. Dy handed the recognition to Jocelyn Edralin Cacho, Executive Assistant at the PHLPost Office of the Postmaster General.

“It is truly an honor to receive this recognition, as it affirms that PHLPost is making meaningful contributions to honoring teachers through its education-focused initiatives,” expressed Ms. Cacho.

Held from 5 September to 5 October, NTM is a movement spearheaded by the Metrobank Foundation, Inc., DepEd, and various multi-sectoral groups. Through the “My Teacher, My Hero” campaign, the program seeks to celebrate the contributions of Filipino educators in shaping the nation’s future.

The event also highlighted PHLPost’s collaboration with DepEd in the distribution of special NTM stamps and its continued support for the National Letter Writing Competition, an initiative aimed at fostering students’ appreciation for handwritten letters.
