We’re in the mood for fine Asian art this week! Take a look back at the recent auction I attended that wasn’t just overflowing with exquisite pieces, but with exquisite company, too.
Asian Cultural Council (ACC) Philippines led by First Lady and Honorary Chairperson Liza Araneta Marcos, together with the León Gallery, hosted the Asian Cultural Council Auction Preview in Makati City.
Little does the public know, they are shaping the landscape of Filipino art from behind the scenes! They offer grants and auctions, making space for opportunities for our local artists.
As the ACC celebrates its 25th year, the legacy lives on. Proceeds of this auction will go to the ACC Philippine Fellowship Program, which supports painters, sculptors, writers and cultural workers as they expand to global horizons.
Inside the gallery, we browsed the extensive curation of Asian art that would go to some lucky collectors and art enthusiasts. There’s something for every kind of collector or interior decoration style! Paintings, sculptures, maximalist, minimalist, modern, traditional and beyond — all a testament to the talent that perseveres and thrives today!
Honestly, it’s so hard to pick my favorites. But I will say there’s a special place in my heart for a Ramon Orlina sculpture. Overall, it was a great sneak peek for the auction to come!
Now all the art appreciation worked up our appetite. What better way to cap the night off than with a nightcap with great friends? We had a lot to talk about. Let’s leave it at that. Congratulations to the ACC, our First Lady and León Gallery for another successful auction preview. Cheers!
