Court denies Quiboloy's house arrest plea amid trafficking charges

The Pasig City Regional Trial Court Branch 159 has denied the request of Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy for house arrest.

Quiboloy, who is currently detained at the Pasig City Jail on human trafficking charges, had sought to be placed under house arrest at one of three locations: the Garden of Eden Restored in Tamayong, Davao City; the KOJC Compound in Sauyo, Novaliches, Quezon City; or in Tagaytay City.

His request, which cited medical and humanitarian grounds, was opposed by the prosecution, which argued that Quiboloy’s medical needs had been adequately addressed in detention.

The prosecution also raised concerns about granting house arrest at KOJC-affiliated locations, noting that the alleged crimes were committed at such sites.

“After a careful evaluation of the arguments of the parties, the court resolves to deny the motion for house arrest filed by accused Quiboloy for lack of merit,” said Judge Estacio-Montesa.
