Opening day was nothing short of a celebration as both the North and South courts of the Power Plant Mall in Rockwell were full of family, friends, friends who are family, acquaintances and new faces, and most specially loyal shoppers. Summer has officially begun and everyone is beach ready and set to bask under the sizzling sun in their artisanal wear. Whether designer, bespoke or RTW, there is a variety to choose from all these beautifully made local products seasoned for resort wear.

The parade of lust for pieces and curated finds is a showcase of the best local artisanal products. The clamor for “love local” has gone beyond its trendy phase — from a want — it has become a need. Local fashion has a grandstanding mindset towards sustainability and its multi-direction move has passed on from generation to generation to generation.

Tribune’s NEW NOW NEXT gathered 100 People who went to see the show and who we felt represented the brand well. People came because they support the artisans, brand, community and country. They have given importance to the value of the art and craft that is a reflection of our traditions and culture seen in each piece of work.

Love this unconditional sense of patriotism nowadays that people wear on their sleeve regardless if they are from the new kids on the block to the seasoned masters, from the young to the young of heart. It’s heartwarming too, knowing that there’s an undeniable sense of togetherness that makes us Filipinos one in this optimistic vision of fashion, design and lifestyle.
