Philippine Army’s 128th anniversary bloodletting: 1RCDG-101CDC reservists give the gift of life

Laoag City, Ilocos Norte – In celebration of the 128th Philippine Army Anniversary, the 1st Regional Community Defense Group (1RCDG), through the 101st Community Defense Center (101CDC), conducted a simultaneous bloodletting activity on Saturday, 8 March, at Data Center College of the Philippines, Laoag City. The event, led by Lt. Col. Renato Magluyan, saw the participation of 101CDC reservists alongside civilian volunteers, reinforcing the military’s commitment to public service beyond the battlefield.

With the theme “Dugong Alay ng LAANG KAWAL at mga Makabagong Bayani Tungo sa Matatag na Sandigan ng Bagong Pilipinas,” the activity aimed to increase blood supply for patients in need. The event highlighted the spirit of volunteerism and humanitarian service among reservists, proving that their duty extends beyond national defense.

Lt. Col. Magluyan expressed gratitude to all donors, emphasizing that every drop of blood given is a step toward saving lives. He also reiterated the vital role of the Army Reserve in community development, disaster response, and life-saving initiatives.

The event was part of the nationwide blood donation drive organized by the Philippine Army, showcasing its commitment to serving the Filipino people—not just in times of war, but in times of need.
