Malacañang has confirmed that Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Ivan Uy has resigned from his post.
Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro announced Uy’s resignation in a message to reporters.
“DICT Sec Ivan John Uy’s resignation was accepted by the President today. An OIC will fill the position until the President appoints a secretary,” she said.
Uy is the third cabinet member of the Marcos administration who filed for resignation since the beginning of the year.
On 13 February, Jaime Bautista resigned as Transportation secretary. He was replaced by Vince Dizon. Bautista said he resigned due to health reasons.
In the same month, Cesar Chavez resigned as secretary of the Presidential Communications Office after “falling short” of what was expected of him. He was replaced by former broadcast journalist Jay Ruiz.
