Unleash PH took a major step in reshaping pet care in the Philippines with the launch of new features aimed at strengthening the bond between pets and their owners.
The Unleash Pet Gala, held on 28 February at One Esplanade, MOA Complex, served as the platform for these innovations, drawing pet lovers, industry leaders, and celebrities in celebration of the growing pet care industry.
The highlight of the evening was the unveiling of Meets, a first-of-its-kind social feature designed to help pet owners find compatible playmates or even potential “soulmates” for their furry companions. Unleash PH CEO Chie Malaki described the feature as an exciting way to bring pets and owners closer together. “Pet care is not just about health — it’s about happiness and companionship. Meets allows pets to form new friendships while also strengthening the sense of community among pet owners,” she said.
In addition to social networking for pets, Unleash PH introduced an expanded Services Feature, providing a wide range of pet care solutions, including mobile grooming, telemedicine, pet sitting, behavioral training, and access to pet-friendly cafés.
The goal, according to Unleash PH director for operations Muji Jaafar, is to make pet care more convenient. “With our app, pet owners no longer need to struggle to find reliable services. Everything they need is now just a few taps away,” Jaafar said.
The gala also served as the official launch of Michele Gumabao as the face of Unleash PH, a role she embraces as part of her advocacy for responsible pet ownership. “Pets deserve love, care, and attention. Unleash PH is creating solutions that make pet parenting easier, and I’m honored to be part of this journey,” Gumabao said.
Another key moment of the night was the recognition of PAWSsion Project, a well-known animal welfare organization, with the Community Leader Award for its dedication to pet adoption and rescue efforts. A PAWSsion Project representative expressed gratitude for the recognition, saying, “Every rescued animal deserves a second chance, and we are grateful that Unleash PH supports our mission to make that happen.”
The event brought together corporate and institutional partners, including UAS, ePLDT, Huawei, Pioneer Insurance, and Dunsk Kuhner, all of whom are expected to collaborate with Unleash PH in expanding pet care accessibility.
Malaki emphasized that the launch of these new features is only the beginning. “We envision a future where pet owners have everything they need in one platform — from services to social connections. Unleash PH is leading the way in redefining pet care,” she said.
The Unleash PH app is now available on iOS and Android, offering pet owners a convenient way to explore these new features and services.
