GENERAL SANTOS CITY — Sarangani Province has once again emerged as a top performer in financial management, securing a 100 percent passing rate for the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s (DILG) Good Financial Housekeeping (GFH) 2024 program.

The announcement highlights the province’s commitment to transparent and efficient management of public funds in compliance with accounting and auditing standards.

The DILG’s recent report showcased the achievements of 53 Local Government Units from Region 12, all of which were included in the prestigious GFH program. Sarangani’s perfect score puts it at the forefront, setting a benchmark for fiscal responsibility.

Governor Rogelio Pacquiao expressed his pride in the province’s accomplishment, emphasizing the importance of good governance. “This achievement reflects our unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability, and fiscal responsibility in managing public funds with integrity. Together with our stakeholders, we will continue to uphold good governance for a better Sarangani,” Governor Pacquiao said.

The award was officially conferred to Sarangani by Debbie Torres, head of the Bureau of Local Government Supervision. To qualify for the GFH recognition, LGUs must meet various criteria, including an unqualified or qualified Commission on Audit audit opinion, compliance with full disclosure policies and the timely posting of financial documents.
