Louis Vuitton is set to launch its first modern-era beauty line, La Beauté Louis Vuitton, this autumn, with legendary makeup artist Dame Pat McGrath at the helm as Creative Director.
This marks the brand’s return to beauty products after nearly a century, having previously produced powder compacts, brushes, and mirrors in the 1920s. It follows the luxury house’s foray into fragrance, which began in 2022.
McGrath, whose career in makeup artistry spans decades, founded her eponymous cosmetics brand in 2015 and was honored as a Dame in 2021— the first makeup artist to receive the title.
Having worked backstage at Louis Vuitton fashion shows for over 20 years, McGrath expressed her excitement about leading the new beauty venture. She emphasized that La Beauté Louis Vuitton embodies craftsmanship, creativity, and innovation, elevating luxury beauty beyond just products.
The collection will feature 55 lipsticks, ten tinted lip balms, and eight eyeshadow quads, as revealed in an interview with Vogue.
Louis Vuitton Chairman and CEO Pietro Beccari described the beauty line as a natural evolution for the brand, emphasizing its commitment to quality, innovation, and artistry. He highlighted the opportunity to integrate beauty seamlessly into clients’ daily lives while celebrating the house’s creativity and heritage.
Louis Vuitton’s parent company, LVMH, already has an extensive presence in the beauty industry, owning luxury brands such as Dior, Givenchy, and Guerlain, as well as global retailer Sephora.
