GMA Network and Viu Philippines have rolled out their highly anticipated first original series, Slay. Featuring an ensemble cast of Kapuso stars, the show promises a gripping narrative filled with secrets, lies and unexpected twists.
The buzz surrounding Slay first built up with the release of a striking promotional poster showcasing Julie Anne San Jose, Ysabel Ortega, Mikee Quintos and Gabbi Garcia, alongside a shirtless Derrick Monasterio.
Viu Philippines teased the series with the caption, “Secrets. Lies. Alibis. You. Who can you trust? The first-ever #ViuOriginal with GMA is about to set your screens on fire.”
The cast brings together some of GMA’s most talented actors: San Jose and Monasterio, fresh from their roles in Pulang Araw; Quintos, currently seen on Lutong Bahay, and Garcia, who will be hosting the upcoming Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition Collab. Ortega, recently announced as part of the Encantadia spinoff Sang’gre, completes the powerful lineup.
Derrick Monasterio’s character, fitness influencer Coach Z, meets a fiery demise during a workout video shoot, leaving behind a trail of suspects. The trailer introduces the four female leads – Amelie (Gabbi Garcia), Sugar (Mikee Quintos), Yana (Ysabel Ortega) and Liv (Julie Anne San Jose) – each described as “pretty girls with ugly secrets,” all seemingly harboring motives for Coach Z’s murder.
Royce Cabrera plays the investigator who interrogates the women. Jay Ortega also joins the cast.
Slay premiered on Viu Philippines on 3 March.
