Woman facing 159 qualified theft cases arrested in Makati

Members of the Makati City police have arrested a fugitive wanted for 159 counts of qualified theft through falsification of commercial documents.

The suspect, identified only as alias Daisy Grande, was listed among the top 10 most wanted persons in the Southern Police District.

The 39-year-old housewife from Barangay Sta. Cruz, Makati City, was apprehended by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Jonathan Honorato D. Lock, Pairing Judge of Regional Trial Court Branch 60, Makati City. The arrest took place at around 10:30 AM on 1 March 2025, at the said location. Bail has been set at P5,174,000.

The arresting team, led by PCapt. Jover B. Borja of the Makati CPS Warrant and Subpoena Unit, operated under the direct supervision of PCol. Jean I. dela Torre, Makati's Chief of Police.

Following standard procedures, the suspect was taken to the police station for documentation before the return of the warrant of arrest to the court of origin.

Southern Police District Director PBGEN Manuel J. Abrugena commended the officers for their dedication, stating:

“The arrest of alias ‘Daisy Grande’ demonstrates our firm resolve to bring fugitives to justice. This operation sends a strong message that we will continue enforcing the law and ensuring public safety. The Southern Police District remains fully committed to maintaining peace and holding offenders accountable.”
