6 arrested in Morong for drugs

MORONG, Bataan — Police here headed by Captain Carlito A. Buco Jr., nabbed a provincial government employee and a jobless man before dawn Saturday after they were caught in the act of sniffing illegal substances in Sitio Crossing, Barangay Poblacion, Morong, bringing to six the arrested persons here in a week of operations.

Captain Buco identified the Provincial Government Employee only as Bangag, and one Mina, both residents of Sitio Crossing, Barangay Poblacion, Morong, Bataan.

According to Captain Buco, “The Morong PNP personnel were then conducting routine patrol when a concerned citizen approached them and reported that a shabu pot session was ongoing inside a comfort room.”

He said his men immediately responded and caught the suspects on act of sniffing illegal drugs.

Pieces of evidence recovered from the place of their arrest were one piece of a small open plastic sachet containing suspected shabu; two piece of aluminum foil strips; one piece of rolled aluminum foil; and two pieces of disposable lighters.

The inventory was conducted in the presence of the suspects, and other witnesses such as elected barangay officials and media representatives.

The said confiscated illegal drugs weigh MOL 0.20 grams with an estimated standard drug price of P1,360. The arrested suspects were informed of the crime committed and were apprised of their constitutional rights, he added.
