BYD Cars Philippines, along with its official distributor ACMobility, recently made waves at De La Salle University (DLSU) with its first-ever campus showcase. Held from 10 February to 12 February 2025, at the Henry Sy Sr. Hall Grounds, the event gave students, faculty, and staff a closer look at the latest in electric and hybrid vehicle technology.

“As we continue to champion the future of mobility, it’s exciting to see the next generation of leaders engaging with cutting-edge technologies like those from BYD. This campus showcase at De La Salle University is an important step in making electric vehicles accessible to young Filipinos, sparking their curiosity and empowering them to drive positive change for both their communities and the planet,” Bob Palanca, managing director of BYD Cars Philippines, said.

The event featured an impressive lineup of BYD’s latest electric models, including the Sealion 6 DM-i, Seagull, and Seal. Attendees got to see live demonstrations and interact with product specialists who answered questions and shared key features of each vehicle.

To make the experience even more engaging, visitors also took part in interactive activities focused on sustainability and electric vehicle awareness. Prizes from ACMobility were up for grabs, adding a fun element to the tech-driven showcase.

“This tech tour highlights the impressive lineup of BYD electric vehicles including the BYD Sealion 6 and the BYD Seal, bringing the future of mobility closer to communities across the Philippines. By sharing these innovations, we are empowering people to adopt a more sustainable and efficient way of traveling, driving positive change for both the environment and future generations,” Palanca said.

The event also gave DLSU’s Eco Archers Team a platform. Known for competing in the Shell Eco-Marathon, the student group unveiled the Zeta Urban Concept — now in its ninth iteration. This was the vehicle’s first public appearance since representing the university at the Shell Eco-Marathon in Indonesia in July 2024.

“BYD is proud to be part of the movement toward a sustainable future, and through our campus tech tours, we aim to inspire the next generation to make a positive environmental impact. These events empower young minds to embrace green technology and lead the way toward a cleaner, brighter future,” Aiffy Liu, country head of BYD Philippines, said.
