The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) turned over 500 ChariTimba or food packs to the municipality of Paluan, Occidental Mindoro in a ceremony held at the PCSO Main Office in Mandaluyong City on Monday, 17 February.

PCSO director Jennifer Guevara personally handed over the donation to Paluan Mayor Abelardo Pangilinan, ensuring that the assistance reaches those in need.

Paluan, a 4th-class municipality, relies primarily on agriculture, aquaculture, and livestock raising as sources of livelihood. Expressing his gratitude, Mayor Pangilinan stated “These food packs will be distributed to the marginalized in our area. This assistance will help families allocate their limited budget for other essential needs aside from food.”

This initiative is part of the PCSO’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, aimed at supporting the marginalized sector and improving their quality of life.

Meanwhile, the PCSO and the Philippine Racing Commission (Philracom) renewed their partnership through a Memorandum of Agreement signed in a ceremony at the PCSO Main Office in Mandaluyong City.

PCSO general manager Melquiades A. Robles confirmed the PCSO’s continued support for the horse racing industry by providing prizes and trophies for selected races organized by PCSO and Philracom for Calendar Year 2025. He also expressed hope that this would benefit more Filipinos.

Philracom chairman Aurelio P. de Leon thanked PCSO and emphasized the importance of collaboration in promoting horse racing as a vital part of the country’s sports and entertainment industry.
