ANGELES CITY, Pampanga — The Department of Agriculture (DA) Central Luzon conducted a training on Cultural Sensitivity on Agricultural Settings in this city last Tuesday.
The activity was led by the DA Central Luzon (CL) through its Kabuhayan at Kaunlaran ng Kababayang Katutubo (4K) Program in collaboration with the National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP) led by 4K focal person Rommelyn M. Maranes.
The theme is aimed on broadening the knowledge and experience of the participants regarding cultural sensitivity on agricultural settings, particularly in creating programs that are executed by the DA.
During the opening of the activity, DA 4K Program Alternate Regional focal person Agripina Tuazon acknowledged the participants of the said training.
This was followed by the presentation made by DA 4K Program Regional focal person Melody Valdez with the summary of the activity, providing a guide on the purpose and direction of the training.
NCIP’s Atty. Azril S. Dogaong served as the resource speaker, providing practical guides to create a better engagement between the tribal community and government agencies.
The activity closed with a message from Regional Technical Director for Special Concerns Engr. Juanito Dela Cruz that gave important views regarding the value of culture in the DA’s agricultural programs.
The training is an important step in creating better agricultural programs for Central Luzon, especially in disseminating information and knowledge regarding tribal culture and traditions thru agriculture through effective implementation of projects by the DA.
