CAMP CIRILO S TOLENTINO, Balanga City, Bataan — A farmer was arrested Tuesday morning by a joint operation of Samal PNP and Bataan Provincial Intelligence Unit in Barangay Sapa, Samal town for illegal possession of firearm.
Col. Palmer Tria, Bataan police director, reported that his men implemented a search warrant that resulted in the arrest of a 45-year-old farmer for violation of Republic Act 10591, the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Tria said the search was executed at the suspect’s residence in Barangay Sapa, Samal, Bataan, by virtue of Search Warrant No. 2025-007 issued by Hon. Edwin S Bonifacio, Executive Judge, RTC of Tarlac City, Branch 111, dated 19 February 2025.
“Upon conducting the search, authorities seized one (1) unit caliber 45 pistol; three (3) magazines assembly; and thirty-three (33) live ammunition for caliber 45 pistol,” the report said.
Col. Tria, the Provincial Director, highlighted that the Bataan police campaign against loose firearms is to promote responsible gun ownership through seizure of loose firearms and other contraband throughout the province.
These police operations also play a vital role in implementing and enforcing the law to maintain public safety as we are preparing and securing a peaceful and violence-free 2025 national and local elections, Tria added.
