A high-value individual was arrested in North Caloocan early Monday following a buy-bust operation conducted by the police.

Operatives from the Northern Police District — District Drug Enforcement Unit (NPD-DDEU) and Caloocan City Police Station — West Bagong Silang Police Substation led the operation, which took place at 4:27 AM in Barangay 176, North Caloocan.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Timothy Aniway Jr., chief of the District Drug Enforcement Unit, said the suspect, also known as alias "Boss," had been recently released from detention in 2024.

"Our suspect has no job; he is an unemployed individual, almost like a full-time drug pusher," Aniway said.

Upon the completion of the transaction, in which a poseur-buyer purchased 20 grams of suspected shabu from the 54-year-old suspect, police immediately entered the house, recovering at least 320 grams of the illegal drug. The confiscated drugs have an estimated street value of P2,176,000.

“He usually sells the illegal drugs in Phase 3 and most areas of Bagong Silang. We are still conducting a thorough investigation regarding the source of the illegal drugs,” Aniway added.

A member of the drug enforcement unit said the illegal drugs were stored in Boss' sling bag.

Aniway also confirmed that the suspect had already undergone drug testing, with results pending.

The suspect is currently detained at the Northern Police District custodial facility and will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
