Angkasangga Partylist First Nominee George Royeca recently demonstrated accountability and leadership by voluntarily surrendering his driver’s license to authorities.
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) imposed a 90-day suspension on Royeca’s driver’s license following an incident in Cainta involving Angkas riders. His decision to surrender the license was a direct response to the penalty imposed by the LTO.
Royeca emphasized his commitment to his team over personal interests, stating, "As a leader aspiring for public office, I am held to a higher standard. I take full responsibility for our actions because I owe it to our riders, passengers, and the public who have supported us from day one. I would rather face suspension myself than see our riders lose their ability to provide for their families."
Both Royeca and the Angkasangga Partylist reaffirmed their commitment to due process, expressing full cooperation and respect for any ruling issued by the LTO.
Many netizens commended Royeca for taking responsibility to protect the livelihood of Angkas riders.
"Di ba dapat nga gayahin siya dahil he takes full responsibility of his man's action. Di man siya directly gumawa ng violations. Kung ibang boss iyan, ipapamahak pa mga tao nila," one netizen remarked.
