Senatorial candidate and Makati Mayor Abby Binay committed to being the "voice" of Filipinos in the Senate, drawing on her extensive experience as a local chief executive.

During a press conference with the Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas on Thursday, Binay emphasized her firsthand knowledge of the challenges faced by ordinary citizens through her years in local governance.

“I know your problems. I can totally relate to your daily struggles and concerns,” Binay said in a mix of Filipino and English.

Binay, who is running under the Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas banner, highlighted that she was selected by President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. based on her track record as a lawyer, congresswoman, and mayor.

“We are chosen based on our track record, our qualities, our capabilities, and the kind of service we can provide to the government,” she added.

Binay also outlined her key priorities if elected to the Senate, including providing free maintenance medicines for senior citizens, enhancing early childhood education with better-trained daycare teachers, and securing tax-free bonuses and overtime pay for workers.
