An Explosive Detection Dog (EDD) named Luna was formally recognized upon retirement during the Salamat Kapatid Program, led by PLTCOL Norman A. Cas-oy, on the afternoon of 20 February 2025 at the 3rd Floor of Tanay Municipal Hall.

The Rizal Police Provincial Office (PPO), headed by Police Colonel Felipe B. Maraggun, together with Tanay Municipal Mayor Hon. Rafael A. Tanjuatco and Vice Mayor Rex Manuel A. Tanjuatco, presented a Certificate of Appreciation and a token to Luna, a Belgian Malinois who served for more than five years with the Explosive Ordnance Division (EOD-K9). Throughout her career, Luna played a crucial role in ensuring public safety through various explosive detection and security operations. She officially retired on 23 April 2024.

Adding a heartwarming touch to the event was the presence of Tiger, the PawVincial Director and resident "Pawlice" dog of Rizal PPO. The Shih Tzu-Poodle mix attended the event to show support for Luna, further emphasizing the strong bond between law enforcement K9s and their human counterparts.

The recognition serves as a gesture of gratitude from the Rizal PNP for Luna’s dedicated service in keeping communities safe.
