Service center ‘hiding’ luxury cars shut down

The Bureau of Customs (BoC) said Wednesday that a composite team from the Philippine Coast Guard-Task Force Aduana, Enforcement and Security Service, and BoC Intelligence and Investigation Service inspected a motor service center in Makati City on 14 February 2025.

Armed with a Letter of Authority (LoA), the team’s inspection was part of its mission to bolster efforts against illicit trade. During the operation, authorities discovered 16 luxury cars and one high-end motorcycle with an estimated value of P366 million suspected of being smuggled.

Before the LoA was executed, the BoC coordinated with local police stations and barangay officials to ensure the operation’s smooth execution.
