Palauig, Zambales — The Philippine Army’s 69th Infantry “Cougar” Battalion recently hosted a camp visitation for Grade 12 students from the Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) strand of Palawig Academy Educational Foundation Inc. at the 69IB Tent City, Barangay Bulawen, Palauig, Zambales.
The activity offered students an immersive experience into the Army’s operational capabilities. They witnessed demonstrations of infantry weaponry, communication systems, and humanitarian assistance and disaster response equipment.
A key highlight was the display of the KM451 military ambulance, equipped with essential medical tools, showcasing the Army’s ability to provide rapid medical response during combat or disaster situations.
The students also observed knot-tying techniques used in military operations. The event included a lecture on Army recruitment, where selected troops shared personal stories from training and field operations, inspiring some students to consider a future in the military.
“The Cougar Battalion is committed to raising awareness about military service, encouraging youth participation in nation-building, and highlighting the Army’s vital role in national security and disaster response,” said an official.
“We aim to educate and inspire young people by providing information about career opportunities and fostering a passion for service.”
