The Office of the Governor in Pangasinan has reported that over 300,000 fruit-bearing trees native trees and mangroves have been planted across the province.
Since the launch of the “Green Canopy Program” in February 2023, a total of 359,603 seedlings have been planted.
The program was launched by Pangasinan Governor Ramon Guico III as the province’s contribution to the global fight against climate change. It is also the flagship environmental rehabilitation project of his administration.
The program takes a multi-sectoral approach, promoting shared responsibility in environmental protection. It aims to raise community awareness about tree planting and conservation while fostering unity through the spirit of bayanihan” or collective volunteerism.
