The Department of Justice’s only female Undersecretary and DAILY TRIBUNE columnist, Margarita Gutierrez, has been recognized as one of the Top 50 Most Influential People in the Philippines by Rising Tigers Magazine, InCharge Magazine, and TopNewsAsia. This accolade highlights her leadership and impactful contributions to legal reforms and societal change.

“This recognition fuels my commitment to continue advocating for justice, supporting Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs), empowering women, and uplifting Filipinos in need. I will continue to contribute to nation-building and work towards a #BagongPilipinas,” Gutierrez shared on Instagram.
Appointed in March 2024, Gutierrez oversees the Justice Department's Communications Cluster and the DOJ Action Center (DOJAC), which provides free legal assistance. Under her leadership, DOJAC has focused on aiding PDLs seeking early release through the Good Conduct and Time Allowance (GCTA) program, reflecting her dedication to justice and rehabilitation.
Beyond her government role, Gutierrez is the president of the Professional Models Association of the Philippines, the first model-run organization in Asia. She champions professionalism in the modeling industry, advocates for fair labor conditions, and leads charitable initiatives, reflecting her commitment to community empowerment.
