The first trailer for the movie The Prophet: Omniscient Reader is here, and we are seated for it!
Lotte Entertainment on Saturday, 15 February, released the trailer of the highly anticipated film adaptation of the popular webtoon by Sing Shong.
The film brings the story’s dystopian universe to life, featuring an A-list cast including Jisoo from BLACKPINK. Alongside her, fans will see familiar faces like Lee Minho, Ahn Hyoseop, Chae Soobin, Nana, and Shin Seungho in key roles.
The trailer gives a glimpse of the webtoon’s futuristic world, with subway environments that possibly hint at post-apocalyptic settings, intensifying the film's survivalist themes.
The film has already sparked much excitement, highlighting its high-stakes narrative and promising a mix of intense action and gripping drama.
However, this adaptation also had its fair share of criticisms. Some fans of the original webtoon have pointed out that certain elements, such as the pacing and the portrayal of key story arcs, may be challenging to translate onto the big screen.
Accordingly, there was also a large debate over the casting choices, especially as fans already had a cast in mind for the characters.
Nevertheless, only time will tell if the adaptation can live up to the high expectations set by its original source, but for now, all eyes are on its release in July 2025.
Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint follows an ordinary businessman whose favorite comic suddenly comes to life. As he navigates this surreal new reality, he struggles to understand how it all began.
