Whales help maintain a healthy marine environment and play a role in fighting climate change by storing carbon in their bodies and transporting nutrients that benefit ocean food chains.
Unfortunately, sperm whales are classified as "vulnerable" by the International Union for Conservation of Nature, meaning they are threatened with extinction unless the circumstances that are threatening its survival and reproduction improve.
