The Partido Pederal ng Maharlika (PPM) on Saturday formally endorsed senatorial candidates from the administration’s Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas and the Duterte-backed Partido Demokratiko ng Pilipino Lakas ng Bayan (PDP Laban).
The PPM, which claimed to be from the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., endorsed the candidacies of PDP Laban senatorial bets such as Senators Christopher “Bong” Go, Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, Sagip Partylist Representative Rodante Marcoleta, lawyers Jayvee Hinlo and Vic Rodriguez, and actor Philip Salvador.
The political party, headed by former Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III, also endorsed Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas senatorial candidates Senators Francis Tolentino and Imee Marcos, and former senators Tito Sotto and Ping Lacson.
The party also endorsed independent candidates — former senator Gringo Honasan and Raul Lambino.
According to Bello, the party endorsed the candidacies of the aforementioned senatorial candidates based on their qualifications and track record.
“We have chosen these candidates based on their qualifications. It is based on their track records, not because they are from the PDP or another party. We chose to endorse them because of their good track record as public servants,” he told reporters at Club Filipino in San Juan City.
Only PDP Laban candidates Marcoleta and Hinlo attended the event. Dela Rosa was represented by his brother, Barangay Batasan Hills Kagawad Wenky de la Rosa, while Go was represented by Gelo Villar, his chief of staff.
