The waltz begins, the masks are donned, and the whispers of the ton grow louder — Bridgerton Season 4 is upon us. With new romances unfolding and beloved characters returning, the stakes in love and society have never been higher. And, dear reader, a certain bachelor may finally meet his match…
On 14 February, Netflix unveiled an enchanting first look at Bridgerton Season 4, teasing the much-anticipated return of a beloved character. The latest trailer confirms that a fan-favorite from previous seasons will once again grace the grand ballroom.
But which cherished member of the Bridgerton cast is making a comeback? Toward the end of the teaser, a behind-the-scenes clip reveals none other than Jonathan Bailey — resplendent in full Regency-era attire — waving at the camera as the dashing Anthony Bridgerton, the eldest of the Bridgerton siblings.
The trailer also offers a tantalizing glimpse at what’s to come. One standout moment features Sophie Baek (played by newcomer Yerin Ha) wandering through an opulent garden in a shimmering gown and an elegant white masquerade mask. Watching her from a distance, masked and leaning against a fountain, is none other than Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson). This fateful encounter hints at a romance destined to steal the spotlight in Season 4.
As for familiar faces making their return to the social season, fans can expect to see Bridgerton’s beloved couples and esteemed figures, including Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton), as well as Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie), Violet Bridgerton (Ruth Gemmell), and the ever-regal Lady Danbury (Adjoa Andoh).
Adding to the excitement, newly released stills from Season 4 tease a long-awaited moment for Bridgerton enthusiasts — Benedict and Sophie’s first masquerade ball interaction. Meanwhile, heartwarming images of Penelope and Colin, now embracing their new chapter with a baby, offer a glimpse into the evolving love stories of the ton.
As Netflix aptly declared in its teaser, this is the Season of Love.
Created by Chris Van Dusen and helmed by the powerhouse Shondaland production under the visionary Shonda Rhimes, Bridgerton has flourished across four seasons, with its world further expanded by the acclaimed spin-off Queen Charlotte.
Set in an alternate Regency-era London, the series continues to weave a tale of love, scandal, and the ever-intriguing affairs of the Bridgerton family. And with Season 4 on the horizon, one thing is certain — the ton is in for yet another unforgettable season of romance and intrigue.
