DHSUD, NREA convention set in March

 According to NREA National President, Atty. Amador Z. Tolentino, the annual convention, which drew approximately 500 attendees last year, will feature distinguished guests and expert panelists from across the real estate industry.

Stakeholders in the real estate industry will converge this year in a convention aiming to uplift the industry by embracing innovative ways, as well as sustainability push.

Slated from 6 to 7 March, the National Real Estate Association (NREA), in partnership with the Department of Housing and Urban Settlements (DHSUD), will hold its 29th National Convention at the Makati Sports Club, Salcedo Village, Makati City.

 This year’s convention focuses on “Elevating Philippine Real Estate Innovation, Sustainability and Inclusive Growth.”

 According to NREA National President, Atty. Amador Z. Tolentino, the annual convention, which drew approximately 500 attendees last year, will feature distinguished guests and expert panelists from across the real estate industry.

The two-day event will consist of four sessions, with two sessions per day, each preceded by a keynote speaker. A total of 22 topics will be covered by discussion panels.

 NREA Exec. Vice President and Overall Convention Chairlady Ma. Loren Sales, mentioned that the convention sessions and their respective sub-themes and topics are as follows: 

• Session 1 — Sub-theme: “Inclusive Housing and Social Equity” Strengthening Local Governance in Housing and Settlements; Leveraging OFWs in Real Estate Development; Updates on Real Estate Development and Regulation; Sovereign Guarantee: New Mode of Accessing Funds for 4PH; Land Reclamation and Human Settlements; and Revitalizing Philippine Cities: A Vision for the Future.

• Session 2 — Sub-theme: “Governance and Professional Development.” PRC Updates; Updates on RPVARA Law and Role in Shaping Property Valuation Practices; 4PH Aspirations from the Private Sector, and Other Updates; House of Representatives’ Agenda to Address Current Housing Situation in the Country; and Buklod-Bayan Coalition: Business Assistance Platform for Real Estate.

• Session 3 — Sub-theme: “Compliance and Real Estate Development.” Pag-IBIG: Expanding Housing Programs, and Other Updates; BoI’s Priority Areas for Real Estate Investment, and Other Priority Investments; Addressing Land Use Conversion Issues and Promoting Voluntary Land Sharing.

• Session 4 — Sub-theme: “Inclusive, Sustainable, Resilient and Connected Real Estate Communities With Emerging Markets, Technologies and Innovations.”Proptech: From Sustainable Buildings to Sustainable Communities; Paperless Transactions: E-Gov Super App; Real Estate and Phaseout of Internet Gaming in the Philippines; Technology in Real Estate Value Chains; Embracing Net Zero Carbon Buildings, and Other Updates; Infrastructure Development and Its Impact on Economic Development; and Smart Grid Technology and Real Estate.

The two-day event targets to improve society while educating about environmental protection.

 “The convention aims to generate innovative ideas and insights that will positively impact the Philippine real estate industry, economy, and society. It seeks to foster sustainable innovations and long-term strategies that will elevate real estate growth, drive economic success, and improve society, including environmental protection,” said NREA Board chairperson Imelda Magtoto.

 The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) has issued an advisory to all Provincial Governors, City and Municipal Mayors, Regional Offices, and other concerned parties to attend the National Convention on official time and expense. This event is held in cooperation with the DILG.

Early registration is open until 15 February 2025.
