Reminder: Local Absentee Voting applications are open for Halalan2025

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has opened applications for Local Absentee Voting (LAV) for the 2025 National and Local Elections, allowing government officials, uniformed personnel, and media practitioners on election duty to vote ahead of the official polling day.

The LAV voting period is set for 28, 29, and 30 April 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eligible voters must submit their applications no later than 7 March 2025.

Who Can Apply and Where to File?

✅ Government officials, employees, AFP, and PNP personnel – Applications should be submitted to their heads of offices, supervisors, commanders, or officers next in rank.

✅ Media practitioners and support staff – Applications should be filed at the following locations:

  • NCR: Office of the Regional Election Director

  • Highly Urbanized Cities (HUCs) outside NCR: Office of the City Election Officer

  • Other areas: Office of the Provincial Election Supervisor

Local absentee voters can only vote for national positions, including senators and party-list representatives.

Comelec also emphasized efforts to prioritize poll workers assigned within their home provinces, ensuring they can cast their votes before reporting for duty on election day.
